Colson Baker a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly debuted as a rapper with Interscope Records in 2012. Baker released his debut EP Half Naked and Almost Famous along with debut album Lace Up, produced by Bad Boy Records, in the same year. The success of his first two records resulted incredible mainstream success with his album peaking at number 4 on the Billboard 200. MGK’s stardom continued to rise with hits like rap track “Till I Die” from char topping sophomore album General Admission and “Bad Things” from his third effort Bloom. In 2019, MGK released the single “I Think I’m Okay,” his first promotional track that explores on a pop rock sound with alternative rock singer Yungblud. The gargantuan success of the single help the album, Hotel Diablo achieve skyrocketing traction in the charts. By 2020, MGK made his departure from hip-hop and released an all rock album Tickets To My Downfall, which went to number 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Rock Albums. Finding even more success with his epic crossover to rock music, MGK dropped several headbang worthy singles like “Bloody Valentine,” “My Ex’s Bestfriend,” and “Emo Girl.” The album was followed by even more success as MGK released Mainstream Sellout as a follow up. Like its predecessor, the album topped the Billboard 200 and the Top Rock Albums charts. With his incredible work in rap and rock, MGK has earned multiple accolades, including a Grammy nomination and several Billboard Music Awards.
